Naini Lake

 

The nucleus of Nainital's incomparable beauty is its beautiful lake which is a 45 mins drive from Pangot.

​St. John Church

The Church of St. John, established in 1844, is a historic landmark located at the northern end of Nainital town (Mallital), about half a mile northwest of the Naina Devi Temple. Named by Daniel Wilson, the Bishop of Calcutta, the church has an intriguing origin story. During his visit to Nainital in 1844 to lay the church's foundation, Bishop Wilson fell ill and had to take shelter in an unfinished house on the edge of the forest. Today, the church stands as a testament to the past, with a brass plaque on the altar commemorating the victims of the devastating landslide of 1880.

Raj Bhavan & Golf Course

Raj Bhavan, formerly known as Government House, was constructed in 1899 and designed by the architect F.W. Stevens in the Victorian Gothic domestic style. Originally built as the summer residence for the governor of the North West Province, it later served as the summer residence for the Lieutenant Governor of the United Provinces. Today, Raj Bhavan functions as the official guest house for the Governor of Uttarakhand and other visiting state dignitaries. The sprawling complex features a majestic two-story mansion with 113 rooms, set amidst expansive gardens, and also includes a swimming pool and a golf course. Visitors must obtain prior permission to tour Raj Bhavan.

Cheena Peak

 

The highest peak in the region, about 10 Kms from Pangot , has a stunning view of the Himalayan peaks & Nainital town. One can either trek or go on horseback.

Dorothy Seat/ Tiffin Top / Lands End

 

About 15 Kms from Pangot, a plac, which offers an excellent view of Nainital and the surroundings. From here, a 45 min. picturesque trek leads one to Land's End (2100m) through a forest of oak, deodar and pine. This is a cliff, offering an excellent aerial view of khurpatal lake and terraced field. It is accessible by horse also.
